Conference registration
You register yourself. Pick a conference and say where you stand — somebody just starting and somebody with something already running are offered different sessions. Then come the questions about your stay: the overnight one is only asked for a two-day conference, breakfast and the second day’s lunch only if you are staying the night. Somebody coming for one day never sees them, not even as empty fields.
The menu shows only what you can eat: the nut curry is not in the list for somebody who reported a nut allergy, while the vegetarian and the nut-free dish can always be chosen — an allergy takes dishes out of the menu, a preference chooses among them. Then you pick sessions from your track, one at a time and as many as you like; the day-two sessions are only offered to somebody staying for two days. Finally the guide asks the organiser’s own system how many places are left. If there is one you are registered; if the places have run out the same registration offers the waiting list instead. Nothing in the guide knows how many places there are — here the example answers three, and in the editor you can change that answer to zero and see the queue instead.
